Looks like the
Norm Roberts tenure has ended at
St. Johns. Tough decision because his team competed well down the stretch and everybody is back next season.
ESPN's John Saunders commented today on how St.John's hasn't been able to win since they stopped "paying the players." St. John's players used to receive a housing stipend but that has been eliminated since dorms have been built on campus. Norm Roberts has built a competitve Big East team th…

Five-Star All-Star and Best Playmaker, Isaiah Thomas led Washington into the Pac-10 Semi's vs Stanford.
The Huskies who were a pre-season top-twenty team has been inconsistent and is one of the "bubble" teams entering Championship Week. I remember it like it was yesterday, talking with Coach Tim Byrd about getting his talented guard to Five-Star. Demond Carter had lit up the scoreboards throughout gyms in Louisiana and the Five-Star August Super Session was sure to be a barometer for this talented guard.
Carter battled in a loaded session against great guards...Johnny Flynn, Tyreke Evans, Gerald Henderson, Wayne Ellington, Earl Clark, Stephen Curry, Nolan Smith, Corey Fisher, Corey Stokes, Alex Franklin, ..

Two of the greatest days to be a college basketball fan land on a Thursday. Today is "Championship Thursday" which sets up next week's "Opening Round Thursday." Next Thursday is a day which rivals any sports day of the year. A day when corporate production is at a yearly low and there are many empty chairs at work and in classrooms across the country.

St. John's was poised for the upset but in the end there was too much Heyward and the dagger of David Cubilian who's "3" all but ended St. John's hopes at post-season. Marquette 57 - St Johns 55.
This Marquette team which lost Wes Matthews a rookie standout for the Jazz and Dominic James a terrific college player seemed to have no chance before the season to duplicate its success of prior years however this determined team led by Heyward who was in the discussion for Big Eas
